CLOTHING
The dress code on the green is as follows:-
All players MUST wear flat heeled bowling shoes (these have no tread on the soles). They may be in brown or grey. A white pair should be worn on formal match occasions when all white clothing is worn.
Ladies – white above the waist and grey skirts or tailored grey trousers (except when Whites are specified, then the trousers or skirts should also be white).
Men – white above the waist and grey trousers (except when Whites are specified).
It is accepted that wet gear may not necessarily be white, but should be when Whites are specified.
Special clothing can be purchased by mail order, from local Bowls shops, or from the traveling sales firms who visit local Clubs regularly. We can advise. |

EQUIPMENT
You will need some bowls (always referred to as 'woods'). These can be bought second hand at reasonable prices, either through the internet or from bowls shops.
Smaller things like measures, wiping towels (for wet bowls etc), bowls bags can be bought cheaply and often second hand. Also a sales van is to be found at a nearby club on regular occasions throughout the season. You are able to discover when it will be there and buy anything you want there. |
